Tips for Parents
|
|
| Hey parents, help you and your family to eat more healthy at home:
|
|
- Be a role model for healthy eating. Kids learn and do what their
parents do.
- Keep fruits and veggies out on the table ready to eat. Try them
with low calorie dips.
- Buy one new fruit or vegetable when you grocery shop and
try it as a family. Use healthy cookbooks to find ways to prepare the
food.
- Have your kids be a part of the meal preparation. Or have them
make their own healthy snacks. Try healthy child cookbooks for
ideas.

Tips for Health Professionals
|
|
| A healthy diet in children can have a positive impact on a child’s behavior
and learning ability, such as test scores, problem-solving skills and school
attendance (less sick days with better nutrition). It also helps decrease their
risk of chronic disease and excessive weight gain, which benefits everyone.
