Tips for Parents
|
|
| Hey parents, help your kids stay physically active both at school and after
school:
|
|
- Encourage your child to be active during recess, playing games or
sports.
- Encourage your school to start a walking program.
- Ask your child what they like to do in physical education
class and play those games at home.
- Talk to your child’s physical education teacher to be
aware of your child’s fitness needs.
- Encourage your kids to be physically active after school
with friends and neighbors, playing games or sports. After school
classes/activities at your local school, community center, or YMCA,
are a great way to have fun and be active.

Tips for Health Professionals
|
|
| Physical activity helps reduce stress, anxiety, and improves self esteem.
In addition, regular physical activity reduces the risk of heart disease, cancer,
obesity, and diabetes. Kids who are regularly active at school and after school
will feel better about themselves today and will help their future health.
